Whats the problem?
by eyeuse2badub inlike the noah of old, (as described in the bible), are modern day jw’s just poor teachers?
i mean, noah, and i assume his family, preached for decades prior to the “deluge”.
they were “clearly” or “evidently” poor at convincing their contemporaries that a ‘flood’ was a comin’.

Just so you know, the account in Genesis makes no mention of Noah preaching. In fact, the implication is there that Noah and his family are the only ones who have been chosen to survive form the start, so there would be no need of preaching. The idea that Noah was a "preacher" comes quite erroneously from a scripture in the New Testament and has no basis in the original story.

Big news from Kim and Mikey, they state in thier latest video proof the WT invested in the Nazi war machine!!

Mike and Kim are always doing things like this, and unfortunately, this is why JWs can get away with saying apostates are liars or mistaken. They need to learn to fact-check, think critically, and not just put out any and every bit of gossip they hear. This sort of nonsense does more harm than good when trying to assist JWs to see the real problems with the cult they are involved in. I believe they have good intentions, but they just don't have good enough investigative abilities, and should always err on the side of caution rather than jump too quickly to put out false information.

I recently came home one day to find some crappy leaflet, entitled "Do you want to know the truth?" posted through my door.

I got left a leaflet that asks, quite without irony, "Do you want to know the truth?"
Was just posted through my door - I didn't ask for it.

We're Ashya Kings parents right?
by The Rebel indo you remember the case?
jehovers witness parents did a runner without telling the medical staff caring for their seriously ill child and took him to receive proton therapy in praque as this treatment was not available in the u.k.. first most importantly the good news, the boy was declared cancer free last march.. anyway i am sure at the time this issue would have created a lot of heated debate on the forum, as it was a case that created a media frenzy, with the parents and their jehovers witness religious beliefs being heavily critizised .
however as i followed the case i couldn't help but admire the parents, as i felt they would have acted indepentedly of both the jehovers witness organisation and the u.k medical advice, having in my opinion seriously thought the matter through, and then doing they thought was the best way for treatment.. so if you remember the case my questions are:-.

slimboyfat, on what do you base your opinion that the "NHS was wrong?" -

No, krejames, I'm not suggesting that the NHS is correct 100% of the time...but how can you ever know they're wrong? (Until, possibly, after the event.) How could you be certain that another country was "more right," enough to risk putting a life in danger just in case? And why expect the NHS to go against its own decision, and then get put out when it doesn't?
Anyway, I'm probably coming across as more callous than I really am. It was a horrible situation for the parents, the child and the rest of the family. I wish all of them well, and I hope I am never in that situation. But the OP question was, were the parents right to do what they did? The evidence suggests the simple answer is no. But this is the sort of situation when people are unfortunately ruled by emotion and prejudice, rather than logic, so errors in judgement will be made. Treatment was delayed or withheld, when having that treatment would have improved chances of recovery, and the boy now has a reduced chance of a favourable outcome, as Cofty has already detailed. -

However, The Rebel, if you rather mean, given the assumption that the NHS was wrong and the parents' way was the only way to get the requisite treatment, COULD I have done similar, then yes, I could have done what they did.
But those are some pretty big assumptions.
